Sue Bewley is an experienced educational leader and mentor with over 40 years in the profession, working as a principal, researcher, PLD facilitator, and coach. Based in Rotorua, Sue brings a wealth of insight and calm strength to her work with teachers and school leaders across Aotearoa.
She has led schools, coached teams, and presented internationally — including conference presentations in London and Wales, and sabbatical study in Canada. As the former principal of Nelson Park School in Napier, Sue was instrumental in embedding learning through play as a core pedagogy, driven by her belief that every child’s self-efficacy and sense of identity must be protected and nurtured.
Sue’s leadership style is grounded in authenticity, deep listening, and practical support. She delights in guiding others through change — empowering teachers and leaders to grow with confidence and clarity.
Her work is especially valuable for schools seeking to align leadership practice with values-driven, relational, and inclusive approaches to learning.
